A quick birthday card and weekly deals

Popping in really quickly with a birthday card inspired by the sketch over at Clean and Simple Colours and Sketches. This is the first time I have tried one of their sketches but I quite liked this one. I promise I'll post the third part of my Christmas card series tomorrow, I've been meaning to do it all week! The sketch for this week is below:

Here is my card:

I have used quite a range of colours for this card as I just fancied something bright! (The stamp set I used for the cake is a Hostess only set, so if you would like to get your hands on it then contact me now to organise a Stampin' Up! party.) To get the different colours for the cake I used my Stampin' Write markers so that I could easily get the different colours without mixing them up. The background was done using the Arrows TIEF on Rich Razzleberry (possibly my favourite colour at the moment!) and then for the sentiment I used the Just Sayin' stamp set with the coordinating Word Bubbles framelit dies. The dies are part of this weeks weekly deals so head on over to my online store and take a look. The table below shows them at their usual price but for this week only they are £15.71

A Male Happy Birthday Card

Evening everyone, I think I have said before that I struggle with cards for men so I'm really hoping that my friend likes this one. I am going to have to practice making some masculine themed cards so that I've got some to fall back on in the future. For this one I have used pool party for the background but I think it would work equally well with smokey slate or basic gray.

The background piece for this card has been embossed using the arrows TIEF and then stuck on using Stampin' Dimensionals so that it doesn't look all lumpy where the bakers twine wraps around the edge of the card. The sentiment is from Tag Talk and I have used the co-ordinating punch in order to cut it out neatly, this is also stuck on using dimensionals. I do like making nice simple cards sometimes as you get a good result relatively quickly.

All supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated.
