Little Baby Bumblebee

Afternoon everyone, now I know I said in my post yesterday that I wouldn't be back until Wednesday but I was going through my card making challenge bookmarks on my laptop and came across a sketch challenge that I really wanted to try out and the deadline is tomorrow. I've been following the Clean and Simple colours and sketches blog for a little while now but haven't had a chance to play along before. Below is a copy of this weeks sketch challenge:

I really liked the angles on the sketch and hadn't tried to do a card like this before so just had to have a go. Here's my card inspired by the sketch:

This cute little baby bumblebee is from the Spring/Summer catalogue and when I saw him I wrote maybe across the top of the whole page as I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to get them but I'm really glad I have little will power when it comes to buying new Stampin' Up! items because now that he's coloured in he looks so cute! I used my blendabilities pens to colour him in, which with the exception of the skin colour pack, are available for FREE as part of sale-a-bration when you spend £45! Here is a close up so you can see the shading:

The sentiment and baby are all one stamp but I decided I wanted to separate them and so used one of the wooden elements to set the sentiment apart without it getting lost. The DSP I have used on the triangles really lends itself to new baby cards as it is full of pastel colours in blues and pinks, this could really easily be turned into a baby girl card by changing which sheet of DSP you use.

That's it for today, thank you for stopping in to read my blog. This time I really will be back tomorrow with some more weekly deals!
